School Development Work at Kalubovitiyana Vidyalaya in Progress

5 Field Sri Lanka Engineers with the technical support of the National Building Research Organization in Matara District are currently, engaged in the development of the Kalubovitiyana Vidyalaya, Pitabeddara in Matara District after 16th Presidential ‘Gama Samaga Pilisandarak’ programme at Pitabeddara village on 27 March 2021 instructed the Army to undertake the project.

The project supervised by General Engineer Brigade of Sri Lanka Engineers, Brigadier Anurudda Senevirathne, Commander Plant Engineer Brigade and Major R.S.L.K Rathnayake, Commanding Officer, 5 Field Engineer Regiment, is closely guided by the Chief Field Engineer and the General Officer Commanding, Sri Lanka Army Engineer Division.

The aim of the project were to form the unsettled soil bunds, adjoining the school building in a protective stepwise formation in order to prevent any soil erosion and the project started on 01 June 2021 as per directions of the Commander of the Army.
