Troops serving the 2 Gajaba Regiment (GR) of 221 Brigade under the 22 Division of the Security Force Headquarters – East (SFHQ-E) launched two separate ‘Shramadana’ projects to clean the Grama Niladhari office in Trincomalee and the Bodhipadarama temple in Sumedankarapura during November 18 - 19.
In the meantime, 6 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops under the same Division, distributed 100 coconut plants, sponsored by Ms Seetha Lakshmi, Samurdhi Niyamake of the area among 50 families in Thiriyaya Kuchchiweli area on Tuesday (18).
Meanwhile, troops serving the 222 Brigade of the 22 Division coordinated a programme to award scholarships to 5 students, each worth Rs 1500/= following sponsorship undertaken by Mr A.F Wijerathna, a retired principal. Those scholarships went to students who got through the Grade 5 scholarship examination in 2014.
Officers, other ranks and relatives of the students participated in the event.
