The Senior Command Course - 08 (SCC-08) attendees undergoing training at the Army War College (AWC), Buttala completed their study tour excursion to Colombo which basically aims to heighten the knowledge about the functions of designated institutions of Sri Lanka Army, Navy and Air Force during July 10 - 12.
The day one of the study tour commenced with the visit to the Army Headquarters where the AWC delegation posed for a group photograph with Senior Appointment holders of the Sri Lanka Army along with the Deputy Chief of Staff representing the Commander of the Army.
On the next day, Student Officers moved to the Western Naval Command and participated in a fruitful educational session on the implications on Naval Affairs and the operations of the Sri Lanka Navy. Afterwards, visiting the Disaster Management Centre, next underscored the operations done at the Centre being the hub of managing of the natural disasters and executing prompt actions on such situations.
Furthermore, the operations and the functions of the Sri Lanka Air Force were observed during the visit to the Air Force Base, Rathmalana at the latter part of the second day and Student Officers had an opportunity of enhancing knowledge on the operational and administrative executions of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
The Commandant of AWC, Brigadier U.K.D.D.P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc along with the Chief Instructor, Directing Staff and all the Student Offices of the Senior Command Course 08 participated in the excursion.
