Saudi Land Force Commander &;amp; India's Dy Nat Security Advisor in Colombo to Attend 'Defence Seminar'

Just hours before the commencement of the Defence Seminar sessions, General Eid Bin Awad Al Shalwari, Royal Land force Commander of Saudi Arabia and Dr Aravinda Gupta, Deputy National Security Advisor India arrived in Sri Lanka this evening to be received by Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Chrishanthe De Silva at the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).

Visiting Saudi Land Force Commander, General Eid Bin Awad Al Shalwari was accompanied by Mrs Eid Bin Awad Al Shalwari for the two day visit in Sri Lanka.

Major General Amal Karunasekera, Senior Liaison Officer to the Royal Land Force Commander of Saudi Arabia together with Mrs Dananjani Karunasekera, Chairperson Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) - Seva Vanitha Unit (SVU) were also present at the Airport.

After attending Defence Seminar sessions, General Eid Bin Awad Al Shalawi is to pay courtesy calls on Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Kolitha Gunathilaka, Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Ravindra C Wijegunerathna, Secretary of Defence, Mr B.M.U. D Basnayake as parts of his itinerary in the isle.

After addressing “Defence Seminar sessions in Colombo, Dr Aravinda Gupta, Deputy National Security Advisor is to call on Secretary of Defence, Mr B.M.U. D Basnayake at the Ministry of Defence (MoD) premises and to attend the dinner hosted by HE the High Commissioner for India in Sri Lanka.
