'Sandahiru Seya' Crest-Gem & Pinnacle Leaves the Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya for Gampaha

Major General Sujeewa Senarath Yapa, Commander Security Forces - West, Major General Asoka Peris, Chief Signal Officer and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of the SFHQ-West, Commanding Officer and troops of the 2 Sri Lanka Light Infantry were among those who participated in the day’s programme when the motorcade carrying the Crest-Gem’ and the ‘Sacred Pinnacle’ (Koth Wahanse) arrived at the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya on Wednesday (11).

The exposition of the ‘Crest-Gem’ and the ‘Sacred Pinnacle’ of the 'Sandahiru' Stupa for public veneration was inaugurated at the Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple, Colombo amidst religious blessings of the Maha Sangha on 5th August and it is taken in a religious procession to 48 temples in 18 districts for exposition having toured over 47 days around the island.

The religious procession carrying the ‘Sacred Pinnacle’ and the ‘Crest-Gem’ of Sandahiru Stupa commenced its journey from the Kelaniya Rajamaha Viharaya and reached the Gampaha Sama Viharaya in the evening on 12th August amidst 'Seth Pirith' and religious blessings.
