Sabaragamuwa Salutes War Heroes

THE WAR HERO commemoration in Sabaragamuwa Province took place near the War Hero Memorial at Ratnapura New Town on Monday (17).

The Sabaragamuwa commemoration saw Governor for Sabaragamuwa W.J.M. Lokubandara in the company of Minister W.D.J. Seneviratne, Tri-service and Police representatives, District Secretary for Ratnapura and a large group of War Hero family members place floral wreaths at the foot of the War Hero Memorial, paying their respect to their memory.

A two minute silence plus a tri-service and Police Guard of Honour was conducted on the occasion in honour of fallen War Heroes.

Governor W.J.M. Lokubandara spoke on the importance of the commemoration after major events were over.
