Russian Army Chief Extends Courtesies to Prime Minister

Hon Prime Minister, Mahinda Rajapaksa cordially received the visiting Commander-in-Chief of the Land Forces, General of the Army, Oleg Salyukov of the Russian Federation on Wednesday (5) when the latter arrived at the Prime Minister’s office for a courtesy audience.

During the meeting with the Prime Minister, both of them exchanged greetings and views on matters of bilateral importance with special focus on South Asian region and its growth as an economic hub.

Towards the end of the meeting, the visiting Army Chief extending his greetings to the Prime Minister presented a memento.

General of the Army, Oleg Salyukov is on a five-day goodwill visit to the country at the invitation of Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, acting Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army.
