The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation HE Yury Materiy on Thursday (26) met Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army at the Army Headquarters.
During the cordial discussion that ensued, attention was focused on COVID-19 preventive campaign, role played by members of the armed forces, global developments, related to COVID-19 outbreak and its fast transmission, sound bilateral relations that prevail between both countries and military organizations and other matters of general concern. The diplomat also inquired into the welbeing of foreign nationals, staying in Quarantine Centres as well as medication procedures, adopted in state hospitals.
