The outgoing Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps Major General Prasanna Chandrasekere was honoured on Saturday (5) at the Sri Lanka Artillery Regimental Centre at Panagoda in a formal farewell ceremony.
On his arrival, the outgoing Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the SLAWC Centre Commandant, Brigadier Janaka Rathnayake and greeted to a Guard Turnout at the entrance.
Afterwards, a Guard of Honour salute, presented by SLAWC soldiers honoured him. From the special dais, He received the salute in the company of the SLAWC Centre Commandant.
A farewell dinner night, hosted by SLAWC Officers to the retiring Senior Officer was also held in the same night at the SLA Regiment's Officers' Mess.
