Retiring SLA Senior Officer Saluted in Farewell Parade

The Regimental Headquarters of Sri Lanka Artillery at Panagoda recently during a ceremony bade farewell to one of its outgoing senior Officers, Major General Kumara Samarasinghe who has served the Army for over 34 years.

Major General Kumara Samarasinghe in the Regular Force of the Sri Lanka Army is expected to retire from the service shortly. The commencement of the day's ceremony was marked paying tribute to the memory of fallen War Heroes of the tribe who made the supreme sacrifice. He laid a flower wreath at the Regimental Monument and saluted their memory.

Troops of all Regular and Volunteer units, together with those of the School of Artillery afterwards accorded a Regimental Parade in honour of the senior Gunner Officer. It followed a tea arrangement at the WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess and the customary All Rank lunch at noon.

At dusk, a farewell dinner hosted on the following day honoured the outgoing Major General by Officers and their spouses of the Regiment at the Officers’ Mess. A memento was also awarded to him as a souvenir towards the end of the dinner. best Running shoes | Nike, adidas, Converse & More
