Retiring Major General Prathap Thillekerathne Honoured in SLAC Regimental HQ

Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) HQ at Rock House on Monday (9) bade farewell to one of its proud products, the Colonel Commandant of the SLAC Regiment, Major General Prathap Tillekerathne in a formal farewell ceremony, held at the SLAC Regimental Centre premises on the eve of his retirement from the Army.

Farewell formalities commenced with a ceremonial Guard Turnout, followed by a Guard of Honour at the Rock House parade ground. Major General Samantha Silva General Officer Commanding 62 Division, Brigadier Tharaka Rathnasekara, Commander Armoured Brigade and Brigadier Sumith Devapriya, Center Commandant Sri Lanka Armoured Corps welcomed him, together with Senior Officers and Officers of the Corps. The day’s event also included sapling planting, all ranks tea, troop address and a traditional street-line salute to him.
