Major General Chandana Kumara Handunmulla, Director General, Financial Management of the Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) on the eve of his retirement from the Army was invited to the office of the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, General Shavendra Silva this morning (26) in order to extend his best wishes over the former’s retirement.
Major General Chandana Kumara Handunmulla, one of the most senior officers, groomed by the SLAGSC who has served a number of key appointments in the Army during his career completed more than three decades of dedicated service and contributed to the uplift of professional standards of the SLAGSC.
General Shavendra Silva during the brief interaction refreshed memories and shared a few thoughts with the retiring Major General Chandana Kumara Handunmulla while inquiring into his future plans and other projects he intends to pursue in future during retirement.
The outgoing Senior Officer also thanked the Commander of the Army for his wishes and the thoughtfulness while mentioning about the encouragement he received from the Army Chief in the performance of his duties. Towards the end of the interaction, General Shavendra Silva awarded a special memento to the retiree as a symbol of appreciation and commendation.
