Retiring Former Wanni Commander's Service Appreciated

Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva on Tuesday (26) extended best wishes and all the strength to Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri, former Commander, Security Forces - Wanni for his future undertakings on the eve of his retirement from the Army after inviting him to the former’s office at the Army Headquarters.

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva during the brief interaction with the retiring Senior Officer, Major General Dharmasiri shared a few thoughts, pleasantries and recalled past memories. Major General Rohitha Dharamasiri who has served the organization for more than three decades and the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment in particular, held a number of key appointments, prior to his last appointment as the Wanni SF Commander.

The outgoing Senior Officer also thanked the Commander of the Army for his wishes and the thoughtfulness. Towards the end, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva awarded a special memento to the retiree as a symbol of his appreciation and commendation.Sports News | Sneakers
