Retired Tri-Service Technicians to be Recruited to State Agencies

A media briefing on the Defence Ministry’s newest welfare project on recruitment of retired tri-service technical officers to the state sector vacancies took place this afternoon (7), headed by State Minister of Defence Hon Ruwan Wijayawardane.

The new project, sponsored by Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs, is the brainchild of HE the President Maithripala Sirisena, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

The new recruitment project, implemented by State Ministry of Defence on the guidelines given by State Minister of Defence, employs 50 such technically qualified retired service personnel, to begin with under the first phase.

President Maithripala Sirisena will give away those letters of appointment to 50 appointees during a ceremony at the President’s Secretariat on Tuesday (11).

Secretary of Defence, Eng. Karunasena Hettiarachchi, Mr A.P.G Kithsiri, State Secretary of Defence, Mr Sarath Chandrasiri Vithana, Additional Secretary, Chief of Defence Staff, Navy Commander, Military Secretary of the Army and several senior MoD officials and tri-service officers, attended the briefing.
