Retired Senior Tri Service Officers Enlightened on Army Roles in Security &;amp; Development


Senior members of the Association of Retired Flag Rank Officers (ARFRO) of tri services on Friday (21) received an update on the Army's ongoing involvement in Nation-building tasks and its all-time readiness against any recurrence of terrorist threats from the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake during a special get-together, held at Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) Headquarters at Polhengoda.

On his arrival at the venue, the Chief Guest was received by Major General Nandana Udawatte, Colonel Commandant, SLCMP and executive members of the ARFRO. A group photo organized for near 100 participants preceded the Commander's address, supplemented with a multimedia presentation.

Spelling out the series of reforms, now on in the organization and new projects being carried out by the Army for the greater benefit of all Sri Lankans, to be in parallel with the 'Mahinda Chinthanaya' with its road map to be the 'Wonder of Asia', the Commander spoke high of the services rendered by retired officers to the country in general during their service periods.

A fellowship dinner culminated the day's event.
