Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps (SLAOC) honoured one of its retired Warrant Officers (WO 1) Kasipillai Yoganadan of Kanthigama, Konavil, Kilinochchi Thursday (6) who passed away after serving the Army for 22 years before retirement in 1979.
WO 1 (Retd) K Yoganadan, a father of four children (3 sons and 1 daughter) had been living in Kilinochchi even during the height of operations against LTTE terrorists, despite risks for his own life.
The deceased who had performed a commendable service during his stay in the Army retired in 1979 and was living in Kilinochchi although his son in Kilinochchi has been serving the Civil Defence Force up until today.
Members of his family have consented to a military funeral considering his dedicated service to the country in the midst of LTTE terrorism.

Funeral arrangements were arranged on the directions of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) with the approval of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake.
Several senior officers and SLAOC officers and other ranks attended the funeral in which military honours were awarded.
