Popular preacher, Ven. Bandarawela Amithananda Thero last Friday (29) met 117 students learning at Mullikulam Government’s Tamil School under 611 Brigade area in Madu Divisional Secretariat and donated stocks of books, needed for their education.
Mullikulam Government’s Tamil School with both male and female students in the Iranai-iluppaikulam Grama Seva sector is one of the leading schools in the Mannar District.
Ven. Amithananda Thero, accompanied by several of his laymen attended the simple ceremony at the school premises and gave away those gift parcels to students as incentives for learning.
Brigadier A. Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division, 611 Brigade Commander, 1 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) Commanding Officer and school staff participated in the event, organized by 1 SLNG troops serving the area.
