Major General Priyantha Perera, designate Chief of Staff of the Army and Commander Security Forces - Jaffna, formally handed over a set of repaired and refurbished vehicles for the use of Forward Maintenance Area HQ - North and battalions under command to the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna on Sunday (18).
Accordingly, a few Cabs, Trucks, Tractors, Bowsers, Three-wheelers, Generators and Water pumps, some of which were earlier condemned without spare parts or remained unusable were repaired and refurbished by 4 Sri Lanka Army Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) troops and formally gave them back to the SFHQ-J.
Major General Priyantha Perera on the eve of his departure from Jaffna to take up the new appointment joined the formal handover ceremony of those repaired vehicles considering requirements at various formations.
Commander, Forward Maintenance Area - North, General Officers Commanding 51, 52 and 55 Divisions, Brigadier General Staff and Brigadier Admin and Quartering of the Security Force Headquarters Jaffna, Brigade Commanders, Senior Staff Officers of the Security Force Headquarters Jaffna, Commanding Officers, Officers and troops were also present at the location.
