Making one more significant contribution to the “Vari Saubhagya” programme of the government , troops have started the tank renovation projects in Mahaweli “L” region with the participation of 11 Field Sri Lanka Engineers. Plant works in those 4 renovation projects are supervised by the Plant Engineer Brigade.
A total of 10 tank projects have been given to the Sri Lanka Engineers by the government and four of those renovations are now underway after their start in August 2021. The General Officer Commanding and Plant Engineer Brigade closely supervises the Project.
Sri Lanka Engineer troops hand in hand with the Mahaweli Authority have commenced desilting work in tank beds. These projects will benefit more than 800 farmers for harvesting covering more than 700 acres. These projects are funded by the Mahaweli Authority.
