Renovated Battalion Training School at Katukeliyawa Commences Training

Major General H.D.W.K.N. Eriyagama RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding, 58 Infantry Division on 23 November 2023 declared open the recently- renovated Battalion Training School at Katukeliyawa enabling the school to restart training of under-command Battalions.

Troops of the 58 Infantry Division undertook the project to renovate the Battalion Training School - Katukeliyawa on the instructions and directions of Major General S.B. Amunugama RWP RSP ndu, Commander, 1 Corps. The guidance and supervision of Major General H.D.W.K.N. Eriyagama RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding, 58 Infantry Division, Brigadier S.W.R. Prasanna RWP RSP USP, Commander, 582 Infantry Brigade and Lieutenant Colonel K.N.P Kalubowila, Chief Instructor at the Battalion Training School - Katukeliyawa expedited the renovation project.

The Officers and Other Ranks of 1 Sri Lanka Light Infantry were among the first batch to begin training at this renovated Katukeliyawa Battalion Training School. Officers and Other Ranks serving the 58 Infantry Division attended the opening ceremony.
