The 64 Infantry Division of the Security Force HQ - Mullaittivu, giving pride of place to religious observances and commemoration of Ward Heroes marked its 15th anniversary during 8 - 10 Dec at the Divisional HQ in Oddusudan, Mullaittivu.
At first, a brief commemorative ceremony paid tribute to the memory of fallen War Heroes and invoked blessings on injured and serving War Heroes in a solemn ceremony on Friday (8 Dec) at the war memorial in the Divisional HQ premises.
On the anniversary day (10 Dec), a Guard Turnout and a parade saluted the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 64 Infantry Division, Major General M.S Devapriya USP ndc on his arrival at the camp premises. Afterwards, he recalled the memories of the Division delivering a special address to All Ranks.
To mark the event, the GOC was invited to plant a sapling in the compound before all of them sat for a group photograph. As the final item on the agenda, all of them sat together for a fellow-lunch.
