Troops of the 511 Brigade of the 51 Division under command to the Security Force HQ - Jaffna initiated a dry ration and clothes distribution programme to provide relief to the needy people, affected by COVID - 19 pandemic outbreak.
On the instructions of the General Officer Commanding of the 51 Division and under the guidance of Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya - Commander Security Forces -Jaffna, those troops in the 511 actively took part in the distribution of those relief packs among the needy families.
The financial provision for this donation was made by the Sisters of Good Shepherd's Convent - Jaffna considering the hardships of underprivileged families in Savalkattu area. Meanwhile, the Commanding Officer and all Ranks of 6 Sri Lanka Signal Corps Regiment in Jaffna organized a programme to distribute clothes among deserving families residing in Gurunagar and Sinnakadai areas in order to address the basic requirements of pandemic-affected community in the Jaffna peninsula.
