In an unprecedented spectacle of brotherhood and reconciliation, a group of rehabilitated former LTTE combatants joined hands together with members of the Army dancing troupe during a recent Sinhala and Hindu New Year celebration, held at Security Force Headquarters - Mullaitivu (SFHQ-MLT) premises.
Upon conduct of a typical New Year festival of traditional games and other fun-making events with the participation of hundreds of children in Keppapilau village, the stage became set for the mammoth musical fiesta that attracted dancing skills of former LTTE combatants, in the company of members of the Army dancing troupe.
All those who shone in different events during the festival were awarded valuable prizes by the SFHQ-MLT at the conclusion of the celebrations.
Major General L.B.R Mark, Commander, SFHQ-MLT, District Secretary for Mullaittivu, state officials, Army and Police personnel, civilians and a large gathering enjoyed the day’s varieties.
