Refresher Program on IHL for Instructor Officers Successfully Completed

Directorate of Legal Services Human Rights & Humanitarian Law organized a refresher program for International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Instructor Officers at Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Engineers on 15 May 2024.

This program was conducted by Mr. Channa Jayawardena, Armed and Security Forces Programme Advisor, representing the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) and 12 x IHL Instructor Officers participated.

It was a great opportunity for IHL Instructor Officers to refresh their knowledge in line with the ICRC’s guidance, especially on "Military in Law Enforcement Operations" in the present context. Simultaneously, a three-day workshop was held for 94 Other Ranks of Combat Engineers employed at the Army Cantonment, Panagoda, on the same day.
