Troops of the 682 and 593 Brigades of the 68 and 59 Divisions of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) conducted Sinhala and Tamil New Year festivals separately at Puthukkudiyirippu Divisional Secretariat grounds and the premises by the Nayaru lagoon on Sunday (26) on a grand scale.
Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT, graced both cheerful events as the Chief Guests where many varieties of traditional games and fun-making features, added excitement, pleasure and interest.
Sports events, fun-making items and traditional New Year games, etc, adorned these too New Year festivals.
Similarly, the New Year festival, close to the Nayaru lagoon reached its climax when the Agni music band added rhythmic beats as the dusk fell. More than 5000 civilians in the area too witnessed the musical entertainment.

68 Division General Officer Commanding, 682 Brigade Commander, 593 Brigade Commander, Commanding Officers, senior officers and a large gathering of other ranks enjoyed their separate New Year festivals at Puthukkudiyirippu and Nayaru.
