PTF Tackling Health Security of Tri Services Begins Field Visits

The new special Presidential Task Force (PTF), appointed by HE the President to tackle health security at camps of the armed forces, headed by Western Province Governor and Marshal of the Air Force Roshan Goonatileke, together with Major General (retd) Sumedha Perera, a Presidential Task Force Member, Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Chief of Staff of the Army, Major General Jayantha Senevirathne, Commander, Security Forces-West and Major General H.M.T.B Hangilipola, General Officer Commanding 14 Division on Thursday (30) visited the 6 Gemunu Watch camp in the Colombo suburb, Mattakkuliya and 2 Sri Lanka Light Infantry camp in Kelaniya in order to receive firsthand experience.

After their visits, a discussion attended by all those Officers took place at the 14 Division HQ in Colombo where their findings were reviewed and plans for further improvement as far as health and hygienic standards were streamlined.

This Presidential Task Force is responsible for preparing, implementing and monitoring an effective mechanism under the guidance of the Secretary of Defence and Commanders of Tri-Forces and would identify measures that need to be taken to ensure health security at military camps in view of the spreading epidemic.
