The Presidential Task Force (PTF) for inquiring into the health safety of tri service military camps during 25-26 May visited the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E), 23 and 24 Divisions and Brigades in the region with a view to receiving updates.
Major General Rasika Fernando, Commander, Security Forces-East welcomed the delegation, headed by Marshal of the Air Force & Governor for Western Province Roshan Goonathilake.
Major General (Retd) Sumedha Perera, now Secretary to Ministry of Agriculture, Mahaweli, Rural Development & Irrigation who is also a member of the PTF inspected the 24 Division HQ, 231 Brigade Headquarters and the Army-run Quarantine Centre in the 4 Gemunu Watch.
Marshal of the Air Force and Governor Roshan Goonathilake, together with one more PTF member inspected the 22 Division HQ and a few other camps in the vicinity. Admiral (retd) Jayantha Perera and Rear Admiral (retd) Ananda Peiris meanwhile visited the 23 Division and the Security Force Headquarters - East in Welikanda.
