Provost Marshal Directorate Conducts Workshop on Prevention of Traffic Accidents

Following the continuing increasing of road accidents, directions given by Commander of the Army, a two day workshop on ‘ Prevention of Traffic Accidents’ was conducted by the Directorate of Provost Marshal under the supervision of the Directorate of Training during March 3 - 4 at the Regimental Headquarters, Sri Lanka Signal Corps,  Panagoda.

321 personnel comprised of 240 officers and 81 other ranks representing logistic units and Motor Transport (MT) sections participated in the workshop.

Major General Sudhantha Ranasinghe Commander, Security Force Headquarters –West (SFHQ- West) inaugurated the workshop by making the opening address.
    
The first day session, consisted of conducting lecture sessions and demonstrations was conducted by Colonel D. P.  Hathurusinghe, Lieutenant Colonel H. K. Liyanarachchi, Major S. A. Gunawardene and finally Lieutenant Colonel D. D. D.  Serasinghe.

On the second day, Colonel R. M. M. Monaragala, ASP W. D. A.   Dananjaya, Mr. R .P. P. Munasinghe conducted lectures.

The programme ended with the closing address made by Major General K. W. Edema, Commander, Logistic Command.
 
Several directorates at the Army headquarters including Psychological Operations, Legal, Supply and Transport, Electrical Mechanical and Engineering SFHQ-West, RHQ-SLSC, RHQ - SLCMP, Sri Lanka Police Department and Automobile Engineering Training Institute contributed  to make the  event a success.
