A PROTEST campaign was held in Canada on Saturday against the LTTE's atrocities and also thanking the Canadian government for taking action against the Tamil Tigers in Canada.
The well-attended protest campaign was held at Yonge and Bloor intersection in Toronto, Canada and protestors carrying posters and banners with anti-LTTE slogans condemning the innocent civilian killings and child recruitment for warfare and thanking Canadian Authorities to ban LTTE and its front organization World Tamil Movement in Canada were displayed by the protesters.
“This is the biggest of such events so far taken place in Toronto, against LTTE terrorismâ€.
The crowd conducted the protest for nearly three hours and finally held a rally in the protest area before they walked away. Importantly, large numbers of people from anti-LTTE Tamil community, representing the Tamil Democratic Cultural Organization, took part in the event, it added.
