HUNDREDS of agitators gathered opposite the Canadian High Commission in Colombo yesterday accusing Canada of supporting the LTTE.
They alleged that Canada has been supporting the LTTE terrorists and blamed Canadian authorities for failing to protect Sri Lankans living there and their property.
The Cinnamon Gardens Police said that the protestors had remained there for nearly half an hour and dispersed after their protest.
OIC of Cinnamon Gardens Police, IP Kapila Premadasa said the demonstration was peaceful and that there were no untoward incidents. Colombo based foreign news agencies had reported that the protesters had pelted the embassy with stones, sprayed graffiti on the wall and painted over a security camera.
