His Excellency the President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, on the recommendation of the Ministry of Defence and Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army, has promoted a total of 139 Officers of the Sri Lanka Army (Regular and Volunteer Forces) and 1273 Other Ranks (Regular and Volunteer Forces) to their respective next ranks, marking the 75th Army Anniversary Day (October 10).
Accordingly, 131 Lieutenants have been promoted to the rank of Captain (including Quartermasters), and 08 Second Lieutenants to the rank of Lieutenant (Regular and Volunteer Forces) in the Officers’ category.
In the Other Ranks category, 99 Warrant Officers II have been promoted to Warrant Officer I, 185 Staff Sergeants to Warrant Officer II, 380 Sergeants to Staff Sergeant, 346 Corporals to Sergeant, 111 Lance Corporals to Corporal, and 152 Privates to Lance Corporal (Regular and Volunteer Forces).
