Private Sector Company Offers Support for ‘Thuruliya Wenuwen Api’

Extending a tremendous boost to the ‘Thuruliya Wenuwen Api’ (all of us for tree-growing) project of the Army, the fashion designer company, GFLOCK (Pvt) Ltd this morning (28) met the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake at the Army Headquarters and gifted 5000 saplings of Mahogany, Kumbuk, Palu, Siyambala, etc, for cultivation in most required areas under the Army guidance.

A representative group of the company, led by Mr Ranil Wiladdage, Chairman, GFLOCK were present at the Commander’s office to make this symbolic gift of those saplings to the Army.

Lieutenant General Senanayake acknowledging the gesture commented that the ‘Thruliya Wenuwen Api’ is a project, being launched by the Army for the national interests, considering it as a timely project with the participation of civil communities.

Lieutenant General Senanayake also spoke high of the public awareness about this national project, through which civil communities would also be able to contribute to make it a huge success for the sake of the generations, yet to be born.
