Private Institute Holds Workshop for Students

Following sponsorship and assistance of the Colombo-based Oxford Institute, troops of the 543 Brigade with the blessings of General Officer Commanding, 54 Division organized a workshop for students and teachers at Fathima Central College, Mannar on Friday (3) in order to educate all teachers and students on ‘Drug Abuse & Prevention’.

To coincide with the event, the same sponsors gave away books and school accessories to students in the same school. A team of 15 lecturers delivered informative speeches and alerted the attendees on the dangerous nature of drug addiction.

The Commanding Officers of 11 Sri Lanka Artillery and 7 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment together with 23 Officers and Other Ranks attended the three-hour long programme in accordance with health guidelines.

Organized by the 543 Brigade of the 54 Division of the Security Force HQ - Wanni, the arrangement was given blessings by the Commander, Security Forces - Wanni. Over 200 students were benefited due to the project.
