EXTENSION OF DEADLINE FOR ENLISTMENT OF NEW RECRUITS TO THE SRI LANKA ARMY 2004 - (STAGE I)

The deadline for recruitment of new recruits to the Sri Lanka Army has been extended up to 01 June 2004. The new round of recruitment commenced on 06 May 2004 and was scheduled to end on 25 May 2004.

Unmarried Sri Lankan citizens between 18-24 years of age, not less than 5 ft. 4 inches in height and have passed at least the 8th Grade (Year 9), are eligible to attend interviews for recruitment.

Those attending these interviews are required to produce birth certificate, school leaving certificate (student index card), Grama Sevaka certificate, two character certificates, a recognized identity card and all other certificates if any.

Upon recruitment to the Sri Lanka Army, they are entitled to receive training both at local and foreign levels and contribute to UN sponsored peacekeeping troops.
