OPENING HOURS AT ENTRY/EXIT POINTS ON ACCOUNT OF \"MAHA SIVARATHRI DAY\" FESTIVAL
In view of the religious festival, \"Maha Sivarathri Day\", the Ministry of Defence has decided to keep the Entry/Exit points at Uyilankulam, Omanthai and Madhu Road junction open for traffic throughout day and night from 17-19 February 2004 in order to facilitate the passage of the devotees.
The opening hours of Muhamalai Entry/Exit point will be extended till 9.00 p.m. during the same period.
Officials of the International Committee of Red Cross have also pledged their assistance in this regard until 6.30 p.m. on all three days.
However, a response to this arrangement from the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission and the LTTE is still awaited.
