Presidential Advisor Instructs Officials to Expedite Ongoing Northern Spring Development Work

SENIOR Presidential Advisor Mr. Basil Rajapaksa was in Silawathura, Mannar during the weekend in order to evaluate the progress being made under ‘Uthuru Wasanthaya’ (Northern Spring) programme now in full swing. 

Mr. Rajapaksa in the company of Minister Rishard Badurdeen, Northern Governor Major General (Retd) G.A Chandrasiri, Secretary to Road Development Authority Admiral (Retd) Wasantha Karannagoda, Security Forces Wanni Commander Major General Kamal Gunaratne, Divisional and District Secretaries and a host of Senior Administrative Officers of Ministries/Departments of Irrigation, Highways, Water Supply, Power from Kilinochchi, Mullaittivu and Wanni Districts before a meeting at Wanni Security Forces Headquarters got underway with the participation of the Wanni Security Forces Commander, Kilinochchi Security Forces Commander and the Mullaittivu Security Forces Commander.             

The officials visited Savariyapuram, Silavathura coastal areas and spoke to fisher-folk inquiring into their practical problems. Afterwards, the visiting ministerial team inspected the Meththanveli agricultural area now under development and the ongoing bridge work at Araviar, Arippu. They also visited sites where LTTE booby traps were being removed in respective areas. 

Senior Presidential Advisor Mr.Rajapaksa during discussions instructed regional officials to take all possible steps to expedite those projects and assured his support continuously.
