To coincide with the 70th birthday of the US-based Ven Brahmanagama Muditha Thero, a group of his followers through the Army coordination and arrangements provided 40 dry ration packs with nutrients to pregnant women, resident in Kiriibbanwewa, Nikawewa, Ehatugaswewa, Nawa Gajabapura, Nawa Monarawewa, Janakapura and Helambawewa villages after inviting them to the Kiriibbanwewa Maha Vidyalaya on Tuesday (28 March).
Each pack contained essentials to the value of Rs.5000/= and the project was organized under the guidance of the 622 Infantry Brigade Commander, Brigadier Enoj Herath as per guidelines given by the 62 Infantry Division’s General Officer Commanding with the blessings of the Commander Security Forces - Wanni.
Mr Chandranapala and Mrs Chandradathilaka, Mr Dinesh, Mr Jeeva Withanarachchi and his beloved son Mr. Namal Kumara, Mrs. Venuri Ratnapala had contributed to the success of the project.
The Civil Affairs Officer of the 622 Infantry Brigade, Second In Command of 9 Gajaba Regiment and troops were also present at the time of the distribution.
