Pre-Deployment Training Course for South Sudan Level 2 Hospital Component Concludes at IPSOTSL

The Pre-deployment Training Course for Level 2 Hospital in United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) was successfully concluded during a simple ceremony on 22 May 2024 at Institute of Peace Support Operations Training Sri Lanka (IPSOTSL).

The course was commenced on 29 April 2024 with the participation of 16 Officers and 81 Other Ranks. The course provided basic knowledge on practical and theoretical aspects of United Nations and special tasks which are assigned to them according to the mandate. The course curriculum consisted with many important aspects such as introduction to UN peacekeeping, Situational Trainings, International humanitarian law (IHL) & Human Rights (HR), Field Training Exercise (FTE) and etc.

Brigadier S.A Hettige RSP psc, the Commandant of IPSOTSL, graced the occasion as the chief guest and delivered the closing remarks after awarding certificates to the participants. Senior Officers, Officers and Instructors of IPSOTSL were also present during the event.
