Pow-Wow with Former Combatants Identifies Their Concerns

With the intention of receiving a feedback on the living standards and their requirements, a meeting between non-rehabilitated former LTTE combatants, now leading normal lives as peaceful citizens and the Commander, Security Forces-Kilinochchi was arranged at the 57 Division HQ in Kilinochchi on Wednesday (30).

Following an initiative of Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, Commander, Security Forces-Kilinochchi, Major General Piyal de Silva, General Officer Commanding 57 Division, organized this special meeting with those former combatants in Kilinochchi where a total of twenty of them were present for the meet at the invitation of the SFHQ-Kilinochchi.

Commander, Security Forces-Kilinochchi and the General Officer Commanding 57 Division during the friendly interactive meeting gave a patient hearing and exchanged views with them while inquiring into their pressing needs and other issues. Both of them also assured all possible support to them for conduct of their lives and promised to take up their concerns at the highest state level in order to bring relief.
