A three-tier programme to identify potential candidates among Army personnel for NVQ 3 and NVQ 4 qualifications got underway during 26-28 November at the Security Force HQ-Jaffna to be in line with the laid down RPL System (Recognition of Prior Learning) of the National Vocational Training Authority and Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission in response to a request, made by Major General Chandana Wijayasundera, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna.
08 Officers and 300 candidate, majority of who are on the verge of their retirement attended those qualifying procedures for 15 selected tradesmen courses that finally award the NVQ 3 and NVQ 4 qualifications, equivalent to a degree, well recognized at international level.
The initial selection programme was successfully conducted by the Director, Vocational Training Authority, Director Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission. Several Army Officers supported the conduct of the three-day long project.
