Poson Devotional Songs at SFHQ-East & 613 Brigade Rend the Air

To coincide with the Poson Poya day, a few Security Force Headquarters organized religious programmes around the country.

A Poson Bethi Gee programme took place at the Security Force Headquarters – East (SFHQ-East) under the theme ‘Mihinthalawai Daham Amawai’ on 19 June in the Welikanda town centre.

School children in the area and Daham school children participated in the programme at the request of the SFHQ-E.

Under the guidance and close supervision of the Commander, security Forces – East (SF-East), Major General K.M.U Wijerathne, these programmes got underway.

During the event, free refreshments were also served to the crowds at the same venue.

Each student who participated in the Bethi Gee programme received a valuable pack of stationeries from the SF Commader as an appreciation for their participation.

The chief incumbents in the temples of the area, government officials, General Officer Commanding (GOC) at 23 Division, senior officers, officers, other ranks, school students and civilians in the area enjoyed those devotional songs.

In the meantime, 613 Brigade troops organized another religious programme at the 613 Brigade premises to coincide with the Poson Poya day.

As per instructions and guidance of the Commander, 613 Brigade, Colonel Ajantha Wijesooriya, the series of programmes were kicked off.

A Dhamma sermon was delivered by Ven Walpola Saranahimi to transfer merits to fallen War Heroes and invoke blessings Army personnel and their families.

Meanwhile, Poson Bakthi Gee presented on took place at the same venue organized by 613, 26 SLLI and all troops.

Senior officers, Commanding Officers, officers and other ranks, members at the Tamil civilians, school children at Thachchanamaradamadhu and civilians in the area too participated in the programme.

The religious programme culminated with a vegetarian Dinner to all the participants.
