The first battalion of Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps (SLAWC) won the trophy Champion beating nine teams vied for the final Cup in the Inter Regiment Netball Competition –2005 on 14th October 2005 at the Army Headquarters grounds. Major General Sarath Fonseka, Chief of Staff, Sri Lanka Army was the Chief Guest.
Second Lieutenant W.B.N. Weerakkody (SLAWC) was the best Centre Player and Sergeant M.W.S. Silva was the Best Shooter in the match. Private P.B. Udani displayed her skills as the Best Defender. Warrant Officer K.D. Pathma Ranjani was crowned as the Netball Queen.
Senior Army Officers and a large crowd of Other Ranks witnessed the matches.
