A special Bodhi Pooja plus chanting of Pirith at historic Deegavapi temple in Deegavapiya invoked blessings on all three communities, living in the area and adjacent Ampara and Akkraipattu areas on August 31.
A large group of devotees from Kandy, led by Katugastota Sadaham Kirana Organization organized the religious arrangement in cooperation with Task Force 3 Headquarters at Akkaraipattu. Ven Nugawela Rahula Thero, conducted in a procession with 100 more monks performed the religious observances.
