One more awareness programme, dedicated for ‘Health Promotion’ was conducted by the Directorate of Psychological Operations of the Army at the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ- W) on Tuesday (6).
The special health promotion workshop was centered on unhappiness, dissatisfaction and mental retardation.
A total of 771 Army personnel, including 98 Officers and 673 Other Ranks participated in the programme at the SFHQ-W auditorium.
Lecture assistance to the programme was provided by the Faculty of Applied Science of the Rajarata University, headed by the senior secturer, Mr Duminda Guruge with the coordination of the SFHQ-W and the Directorate of Psychological Operations.
This special lecture focused on the importance of reduction of alcohol consumption, and stoppage of smoking and various other means of maintaining sound health, anxiety, suicide, immoral sexual conducts, etc.
The programme was supported by Major General Kumudu Perera, Commander, Security Forces - Wanni. Several Senior Officers at the SFHQ-W were also there.
