Phase III of the ‘Budo’ Self-Defence Training at Wanni HQ Begins

A group of 9 Officers and 308 Other Ranks of the Security Forces - Wanni (SF-W) who have been qualified for ‘Blue’ standard belt in ‘Budo’ self-defence martial art after successful completion of the Phases I and II of the ‘Budo’ training programme, began the Phase III to pass out as Instructors with the highest ‘Blue’ level standards at the Security Force Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W).

The training on this self-defence art came about on a directive of the Commander, SF-W, Major General Jagath Gunawardene who also graced the inaugural day of the Phase III of the training course on Monday (28).

Together with Army Instructors, veteran martial art instructors in Sri Lanka including Renshi Mr Clement De Zoysa (Black Belt - Dan 8) as the chief instructor are conducting these courses at the SFHQ-W premises.
