JA-ELA People’s Bank offering a different type of treat to the War Heroes undergoing rehabilitation at Ragama Ranaviru Sevana invited them to a special Pirith chanting and a Ranaviru felicitation ceremony during the weekend (May 15-16).
Both events organized under the auspices of Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) and on the instructions of Brigadier R.A Samarathunga, Director of Rehabilitation at Ragama Ranaviru Sevana, were attended by War Heroes under rehabilitation there. Ten disable War Heroes representing all Units and Regiments were gifted with wheelchairs during the felicitation ceremony, as part of the arrangements.
Ven Udammita Gnanissara Thero, Viharadhipathi Ja-ela Kudahakapola Sri Jayasumanaramaya inaugurated the chanting after an Anusasana (oration), in which achievements of War Heroes were extolled and appreciated. The following day’s (16) War Hero felicitation ceremony was graced by a large gathering of patriotic civilians in the area.
Messrs P.V Pathirana, General Manager, People’s Bank, T.A Ariyapala, Western Region General Manager, People’s Bank, N Weerasuriya, Manager Ja-ela People’s Bank, a representative gathering of current account holders, bank’s customers and senior officers were among participants during both these events.
