Passing Out Parade of Recruit Training Course No-38

The passing out parade of Recruit Training Course No-38 took place on 29 March 2024 at the Recruit Training School in Henanigala. Major General M.K.U.P Gunarathna RSP ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Security Forces -East, graced the event as the chief guest.

523 recruits, who completed a six-month basic training course, were posted to various Regiments and received their Regimental colours during the event. Displays such as the band performance and physical training demonstration added a touch of glamour and excitement to the occasion.

Following special awards were presented to individuals for their exceptional performances during the course:

- Best Shot: Recruit W.W.G.K. Mendis

- Fittest Soldier: Recruit K.D.M.S. Premananda

- Best Recruit: Recruit C.C. Madanayake

Moreover, the following commendation awards were also awarded to instructors of the course in recognition of their service:

- Best Platoon Commander: Capt H.L.A.A.P. Liyanarachchi of Sri Lanka Armored Corps

- Best Platoon Sergeant: Sergeant K.A.T. Asanka

- Best Section Commander: Lance Corporal T.W.S.M. Herath

- Best Physical Training Instructor: Lance Corporal N.A.M.U. Abeysundara
