Passing Out Parade and Award Ceremony Held at Army Indoor Stadium, Panagoda

Passing out parade of Physical Training Instructors courses, Basic Swimming Course and awarding of NVQ Level 4 certificate for the 1st Batch of 2024 held on 07 May 2024 at Army Indoor Stadium, Army Cantonment, Panagoda. Major General S.W.M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander of Security Force - West and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps, graced the passing out parade as the chief guest. Following Officers and Other Ranks demonstrated exceptional skills during their courses:

1. Officers Advance Physical Training Instructor Course - No 17

 - Lieutenant D.M.M.L.K Bandara of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps received top honors as the Best Student.

 - Lieutenant T.P Ekanayaka of Special Forces showcased exceptional endurance.

 - Lieutenant R.M.D.U Premasiri of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment excelled as the Best Gymnast.

 - Second Lieutenant R.M.A Eranda of Sri Lanka National Guard showcased remarkable sportsmanship.

2. Advance Physical Training Instructor Course No 47

 - Lance Corporal P.R.P Perera of Special Forces secured the first position as the best student and excelled as the Best Gymnast.

 - Riflemen R.M.S.S Wijerathna of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment displayed outstanding endurance.

 - Corporal D.M.W.W Dissanayaka of Sri Lanka Signal Corps emerged as the Best Section Commander.

 - Infantryman I.M.P.N Senavirathna of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment demonstrated remarkable sportsmanship.

3. Assistant Physical Training Instructor Course - No 131

 - Lance Corporal W.H.M Premakumara of Commando Regiment - Best Student.

 - Infantryman R.A.D Jayasena of Sri Lanka Light Infantry - excellence in Gymnastics.

 - Private R.L Kumar of Sri Lanka National Guard - displayed impressive endurance.

 - Lance Corporal J.L.R Jayalath of Commando Regiment - demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship.

 - Corporal M.H.N Weerarathna of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment - excelled as the Best Section Commander.

4. Basic Swimming Course No 167

 - Lance Corporal K.D.S.T Jayasingha of Commando Regiment - Best Swimmer and Best Student.

 - Corporal N.K Mahesh Kumara of Special Forces - Best Section Commander.

The passing out parade featured a captivating Tatto display, showcasing Gymnastic (High Skills), Aerobic, and Unarmed Combat skills demonstrated by both students and instructors. The Chief Guest commended the individual skills displayed by the coaches, which garnered appreciation from all attendees.

Emphasizing the critical role of Physical Training Instructors in enhancing the Sri Lanka Army's capabilities, the Chief Guest highlighted the responsibilities that come with this esteemed position, urging continuous dedication and excellence in their roles.
