The new Defence Advisor to the High Commission of Pakistan in Sri Lanka and Maldives, Colonel Muhammad Farooq psc Monday morning (4 September) paid his first courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu at the Army Headquarters.
The cordial meeting that ensued at the Commander’s Office exchanged courtesies and focused on general matters of concern and interest to both military organizations. Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage and Colonel Muhammad Farooq psc recalled long-lasting bonds of goodwill, cooperation and understanding that exist between the Armed Forces of both countries and underlined the importance of sustenance of continued co-operation.
Towards the end of the cordial meeting, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage symbolized the goodwill of the Sri Lanka Army by awarding a memento to the incoming new Defence Advisor. The gesture was reciprocated.
