The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan Army General Raheel Sharif, NI (M) paid a courtesy call on Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke at the Air Force Headquarters Colombo on Monday (8) morning. He was accorded a Guard of Honour and warmly received by the Commander of the Air Force on arrival.
They held cordial discussions on matters of mutual interest and bilateral importance. Mementos were also exchanged to mark the occasion, symbolizing the goodwill of the two friendly forces after the meeting with the Commander of the Air Force.
Meanwhile, General Raheel Sharif, COAS of Pakistan Army in Sri Lanka paid a courtesy call on General Jagath Jayasuriya, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) at the office of the CDS on the same day after he met the Commander of the Air Force.
During the brief interactive meeting, both of them shared views on matters of military importance and general issues. The brief meeting culminated with exchange of symbolic mementos.
